Negligent Driving Causing Death JUDGE'S VIEW OF CASE

AUCKLAND, Last Niglit. Found guifty last week of negligently driving a motor-car so aa to cause tho death of a young niotor-cyclist, Christian Henry Dubi, farmer, aged 58, to-day was fined £50 and had liis Iicence cancelled by Mr Justice Fair. His Honour did not think the case called for a sentence of imprisonment. It was true, he said^ that the negligence of the prisoner had contribqted to the death of the cyclist, but no doubt the prisoner regretted it as mnch as anyone. His Honour issued a general warning that a drivcr who was negligent must expect and would receive exejnplary punishment.
