Trainer Injured and House Burnt '

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Double misfortune visited Mr. C. K. Yeatman, the well-known trotting trainer, yesterday, when his home at Prebblet' n and its contents were destroyed by fire and lie received serious injuries in a fall from a mount, Sunny Jack, at tiie Greymouth trots, Being outside the fire district and away from the water supply, nothing could be done to save the house, a tAvostoreyed seven-roomed building. Mrs. Yeatman and her tliree young children were in Cliristcburch when the fire broke out, probably shortly after 9 o'clcck. Tliey returned to find nothing but a lieap of smoking ashes and twisted metal. Tlie origin of the fire is a mystery, During Ihe running of the Progressive Handicap at Greymouth Mr. Yeatman was heavily tlirown from Sunny Jack and was trampled by the following liorse, Travisque, being badly injured in the ehcst and abdomen. He was taken to liospital in a serious condition. Today he was rcported to be imprcved.
