"We wish to remind the New Zealand Manufacturers ' Federation that we liave already twice entirely refuted similar allegations as to working conditions in the United Kingdom, once on oatli before the last Tariff Commission to the complete satisfaction of that bocly. It is regrettable that tlie New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation persists in tliese taetics, aud wo definitely say that as far as tlie footwear industry in the United Kingdom is eoncerned tliose factories making for export to New Zealand liave working conditions wliicli are satisl'aetory in every way and would more tliau comply witli New 'Zealand factory requiremcnts."
