HASTINGS BRIDE WEARS GOWN OF SWISS MUSLIN

TENNESSY— ROULSTON Tlie weddiiig was quietly solemuised at tlie home of the brjde's pareuts this morniug of Nathleen Jane, eldest daughter of Mr. aiid Mrs. T. S. Eoulston, Lyndon road, Hastings, and Francis Eugene, elder son of Mr. .and Mrs. 15. Tennessy, of Wellington, Father Macdonald officiated at the ceremony. Bowls of lovely lily of the valley and tall vases of arum lilies decorated the drawing-room wliere the cermony tooh place. The very dainty bride looked mosf charming in her wedding gown of white Bwissmuslin with a design of tiniest white flowers scattered all over the material. The decolletage was cut high and fmished with a little collar with a posy of orange blossom in front and small covered buttons down the back, The corsage was gathered ' into a wide sash which tied in a how at the back and the long full sleeves were slightly gathered ou the shoulders, the cuffs being tied with a bow effect. She wore a stilfened muslin halo with orange blossom posy in tlie middle and silver shogs ,ancl qarried a bouquet of lily of the valley^ Tlie only maid was the bride's sister, Misg Airini lloulston, whose gown was of the same niaterial a the bride' in a lovqly shade of niignon blue with tiny desigu in white. The neckjine was cut to a heart shape in front and was edged with a narrow picot-edged frill with fancy effect. A niatching frill edged the short puffed sleeves which were cut in butterfiy effect- at the shoulders. The waistline was defined with a sash tied at the back and she at the back and she wore silver shoes and carried a Yictorian posy of primrose shaded polyanthus with a tiny matching cluster worn in her liair. Mr. Bruce Johnstone carried out the duties of best man and Mr. T, S. Roulston gave his daughter away. Foilowing the ceremony a small reception was held, the wedding breakfast being set in a marquee on the lawn. The tables had been most artistically decorated by Mrs. Walter Wright, with bowls of lily of the valley, pinky-red ranunculus and heuchera iu the same shade. Mr. and Mrs. Roulston received the guests, the latter wearing a smart ensemble of navy blue matalasse with white trimmiug at Uie neck and sleeves. Her navy ballibuntal hat liad touches of white in the trimmiug and she carried a bouquet of flowers in red shades. When the brido and bridegroom left for their honeymoou, tlie bride travelletl in an American model suit with skij't of deep sase bluo suede silk worn wjtli a blouse in the same material in a shado of periwinhle blue with sash tied afc oue side. A bolero iu the deeper shado of blue was embroidered in the same shade as her blouse. She wore a deep blue halo hat and blue accessories and carried a tailpred coat of blue Harris tweed. Among those present were the bride's grandmother, Mrs. F. M. Price, of Wanganui, who wore a gown of black fancy georgette with kilted frill trimming the corsage. Her black straw hat was finished with a cluster of pinkymauve flowers and she carried a bouquet of sweet peas in the same shades. Miss Jeannette Roulston, the bride's sister, wore a frock of primrose linen witli pleated panel in the corsage and continued down tho skirt. A posy of brown :suede flowers was worn at the neck and a brown suede belt. Her halo hat of primrose shaded straw was banded with brown.
