Daventry to be Used to Counteract it GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSALS LONDON, Oct. 24. Keynold's News says that, with a view to checking anti-British Tadio propaganda, the Goverament in future will control the Daventry transmitter, using it solely for broadcasting the British viewpoint in the English and foreign languages. It adds that this will involve scrapping the Empire broadcasting service, but expresses the opinion that the Dominions are now well equipped with their own broadcasting services. The corporation will have more money for the home programmes. The British Broadcasting Corporation denies that the Empire service is being scrapped, but adds that making use o£ foreign languages for broadcasts iwr under eonsideration between the corporation and the departments concerned.
