The garden-party to have been held at the rcsidence of Mrs Christie, Havelock North, in aid of the National Party, has been postponed until November 17, owing to the inclement weather. The aunuai general meeting of the Hastings Golf Club will be beld in the Rialto tearooms, on Mouday, November 1, at 8 p.m. The Napier ltepertory Piayers will presenb a one-act play evening to-mor-row uight in the Foresters Hall, Napier. Manchester Unity Oddfellows are notified that the Hastings Lodge will meet at the Oddfellows' Hall to-night, Tuesday, at 7 o'clock. Only urgent husiness will be dealt with and afterwards visitors from sister lodges ana friends will be entertained, Box plans for the dance recital, produced by the Misses Grantham and Patston, at the Municipal Theatre, Hastings, on Thursday next, is now open at Fail's. As this recital is in aid of the Hastings Plunlcet Society a full house is anticipated. The items include the tiny tots, juniors and seniors, with a special exhibition dance by the produeers.
