Lengthy List of Offences A lengthy list of offences came up for hearing in the Hastings Magistrate 's Court this morning before Mr J. Miller, S.M. The majority of theee were traffie offences, but others on the list included two breaches of a prohibition order by a man on sustenance and two cliarges of using obscene language in Warren street, arising out of a quarrel between two brothers. "This man should not be drinking when he is on sustenance^" said the Magistrate when Harry Franci? Lowe pleaded guilty by letter to two breaehea of a prohibition order. The gecond information was withdrawn and on the first a fine of £1 'with costs 10/- was imposed. Two brothers, William Frederick Quinn and. Frederick Edward Quinn, both of Napier, pleaded guilty througli Mr E. L. Commin to using obscene language in Warren street, Hastings, on Saturday. As a result of complaints received by the police, said JSenior-Sergeant G. Sivyer, a constable found the two young inen under the influence of liquor. He saw one knock the other down, after which the language complained of was used. There were not a great many people about at the time and the language appeared to be the result of drink. Each was fined £2 in default 14 days' imprisonment, a fortnight being allowed in which to pay.
