England-Australia Record HEADWINDS ALL THE WAY (Received 26, 8.45 a.m.) BAGHDAD, Oct. 25. After encountering headwinds and sandstonns. the Australian flyer, Mr II. F. Bro'adbont, has abandoned his uttempt on Miss Batten's England-to-Australia flight record. Mr Broadbent was the previous holder of the Aus-tralia-to-England record. So far on the present flight Mr Broaubent's petrol consumption has been inexplieably beavy. Owing to bad weather, Mr Broadbent earlier was compelled to return to Baghdad. He made a forced landing in tlie desert 60 niiles from Baglidad. He borrowed a donkey from some Arabs and rode four miles until he was able to obtain sufficient petrol from a motorc*r to resume his journey to Baghdadj ,
