WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

Ormondville Gathering Tlie monthly meeting of the Ormondville Women' s Institute was held in tlie Peace Memorial Hall. Mrs. H. R. Benbow presided over a. fair attendance. Preliminary arrangements were made in connection with the fortheoming birthday of the institute. Mrs. Port, one of the delegates of the half-yearly conference held at Papatawa, gave a most interesting report for which she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The roll call, "best recipe," was well responded to. In the No. 1 competition, judged by Mesdames T. G. Hosking, and H. O. Baines, Mrs. Cload gained first place Mrs. Smith bing second and Mrs. W. A. Trask third. The No. 2 competition, "daintiest tray cloth jn coloured cottons," judged by Mesdames Smalley and Jones, resulted in Mrs. W. A. Trask gaining first place with Mrs. J. C. Packer second. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Port, G. S. Chapman, and I). Munroe.
