JAPANESE BOMB KILLS 30 IN SETTLEMENT AREA; U.S. EMBASSY PROTESTS
(Eeeeived- 23, 10.50 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Oct. 22. A Japanese bomb fell in the Intemational Settlement near the Soochow Creek and killed 80 and wounded others, inclndlng four Sikhs and a United States Marine. The American Embassy protested to the Japanese Commander-in-Chief, who promised that everything wonld be done to prevent a recurrence.
