BRIDAL GOWN OF MAGNOLIA DUCHESS SATIN
COE — HEWETSON The Sacred Heart Church, Hastings, was bathed in sunshine on the occasion of the ruarriage of Jessie Margaier, daughter of Mrs Hewetson, Sylvan road, Hastings, and the late Mr Hewetson, and Raymond James, son of the late Mr and Mrs J. Coe, of Waipawa. The church had been effectively decorated about the chancet with bowls of pink blossom and the altar vases filled with miniature madonna 'lilies and foliage. The end of the pews were tied witn posies of freesias ana white ribbon. The Rev. Father MacDonald officiated at the marriage ceremony and Madame I.o Lievre presided at the organ and at the conclusion of the ceremony played Mendelssolm's "Wedding March." The bride, who was eseorted by her brother, Mr George Hewetson, looked particularly charming in her beautiful bridal gown of magnolia duchess satin, fashioned on classical lines with higli waist, and the bodice rucked to fit the figure. The neckline was finished with a Medici collar. Tbe sleeves were full nt the top and fitting at the wrists and the skirt fell into a long full train at the fcack. The beautiful Brussels net veil was silk embroidered and was worn with a tiny wreath of orange blossom buds and miniature madonna lilies and finished on one point of the veil with a posy of orange blossoms. A very exquisite aim shower, composed of freesias, cream tulips and pale pink caruatiops, with maidenhair fern, wras carried. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky silver horseshoe by her suxail nephew, John Hewetson.
The bridesmaid was Miss Bonnie Bretherlon, Wairoa, niece of the bridegroom, who wore a gown of shell pink lloral chiffon, fashioned on long fitting lines with trained skirt, the short puff sleeves and neckline finished with a narrow accordion-pleated frill. She woie a picture hat in the same colour of summer straw, with pink rose undsc the brim, and she carried a beautiful ivrrr shower of deep pink carnatiOne, anemones, tulips and ferns. Mr I. Iiarvey,- Waipawa, was bcst man, and Mr J. Baskiville, Waipawa, was toasL-master. Following the ceremony a xeception was licld at thc Hawke's Bay Farmehs' Tea-rooms, wliere beautiful flowers to tune with. the bridal party were used ' to decorato tho tables. The beautiful tliree-tiered wedding calcc was a gift to the bride. Mrs Hewetson received the guests and wore a model frock of black silk marocain with smhli floral design, black tailored coat" and black hat, and she carried a very attractive bouquet of mauve anemones and violets. Mrs Allan, Wairoa, sister of tlie bridegroom, assisted Mrs Hewetson, and wore a smart suit of navy bluo satin beaute, with a tunie of navy blue lace,
navy picture hat, and she carried a beautiful bouquet of red anemones, carnations and i'erns. with satin ribbon to match. Among others present were Miss M. Hewetson, sister of the bride, who wore a model frock of black and white diagonal taileta and a black picture katj Mrs E. Hewetson und Mrs J. Hewetson (sisters-in-law of ihe bride), Mrs Bretherton, Mrs Nilsson (Dannevirke), and Mrs Buckeridge (Waipawa), sisters of the bridegroom. Among the many beautiful gifts was. a substantial cheque from Messrs .Vidal and Sons to the bride, who has been their secretary for some years. When leaving for the honeymoon tour by car, Mrs Coe travelled in a smart striped navy blue costume, with hat and accessories to tone.
