BOWLING

Wairere Club A most successful progressive pairs tournament was held upon the Wairere club's green yesterday. Five games of 10 heads each were played, Sinclair (skip) succeeding in winning 4$, with Barr a close second, with 4 wins. The ieads saw Messrs McKechnie, Spencer and L. Williams tie with 4 wins each. Twelve pairs were engaged, the green proving in good order and the weather conditions all that one could desire. Progressive riuk play is anticipated on Labour Day, when a largo jitfcndance is expected.
