SCHOOL TERMS
Date Fixed by H.B. Education Board Schools under the jurisdiction of the Hawke's Bay Education Board close this year upon December 17. At the monthly meeting in Napier of the board this morning, a schedule of holidays for 1938 were adopted. Following is the schedule: — First term: Tuesday, February 1, to Friday, May 6 (13 weeks 4 days). Second term : Monday, May 23, to Friday, August 19 (13 weeks). Third term; Monday, September 5, to Friday, December 16 (15 weeks). Opening date, 1939, Wednesday, February 1. Fixed holidays for 1938 (in addition to the usual term holidays) are: — Easter, Good Friday, April 15; Easter Monday, April 18; Easter Tuesday, April 19. Anzac Day, Monday, April 25. King's Birthday, date of observance to be announced). Labour Day,
