Force in Shantung Province CHINESE ARMY IN PURSUIT (Received 21, 12.55 p.m.) PEIPING, Oct. 20. Iniportant developments have begun in North China. The Japanese on the Tientsin-Pukow railway are withdrawing from Shangtung^ although they only recently crossed the border. General Hanchafu's Shantung army, 100,000 strong, is advancing in pursuit of the Japanese. He claiins that he has captured several tomis with little resistance. The Japanese spokesman admitted tkat the Japanese were suifering heavily in mountain fighting in the Shansi province.
