(Received 21, 9.25 a.m.) RANGOON, Oct. 20. Miss Jean Batten, the New Zealand aviatrix, who arrived at 4.36 p.m. Burma time from Alor Star on her atteinpt at Mr. Broadbent's flight record .from Australia to England, at 3 a.m. She said that the flight so far had been uneventful. Miss Batten said that thus far she had a bad time. She took a slightly easterly course from Mergui ; then, after passing Tavoy, she followed the Bnrma coast for 6£ hours from Alor Star to Rangoon. She ho'pes to heat the record provided that the weather is favourable. She arnved hero at 10.5 a.m. G.M.T and expects to take off for Allahabad at 8.30 p.m. Her log, Greenwich time, is as follows : Monday, left Darwin 9.30 p.m.; Tuesday, arrived Batavia 9.15 a.m., departed 6.30 p.m.; Wednesday, arrived Alor Star 2.25 a.m., took off 3.25 a.m., arrived Rangoon 10.6 a.m. -Later: Miss Batten left for Allahabad at 3.11 a.m., Burma time.
