WELLINGTON, This Day. In the House of Eepresentativeg yesLerday Mx S. G« Holland (National, Christchurch Nortb) gave notice to ask the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Hon. D, G. Sujlivan) tho following questions: — (a) Whether the Minister 's atteption liad been directed to a report in the Bvening Post of Thursday, October 14, wherein the Minister of Labour stated that New Zealand boot manufacturers were now at the peak of their production, and wero cmploying tbo bighest number. of hands in their history; (b) whether the statement by the Minister of Labour was in accord with the information in the posession of tho Minister Qf Industries and Commerce; (c) whether the Minister of Industries and Commerce would m&ke a true pnblic statement of the whole position and have such statement cabled to Australia, so that sny wrong impression that might have been qreated by the Minister of Labour would be rectified and the people Qf tho Commonwealth made aware ef the correet pogition conceming the lecni maanfaeture of footwear in New Zealand before nest Satur: day, on which date certain elections would occur in Australia.
