Tbe Revs. Puha, Rangiaho, Pokiha and Lee, who have been visitors tp Napier for Synod, lelt by car this morniug for Rotorua. Mr F. A. Jarrett, of Christchurch, haa been appointed judge for the Forbury Park Trotting Club, iu place of Mr W. Rudkin, who resigned. There were ten applicants for the position. Mr L. E. Gielgud, under-secretary of the International League of Red Cross Societies, accompanied by Mrs Gielgud, arrived at Auckland from Rotorua on Monday morning and left later in the day by the Monterey for Los Augeles. The position of Registrar of the Auckland University College was filled yesterday when Mr. Lawrence O. Desborough, of Wellington, was appointed by the college council, to succeed Mr. M. R. O'Shea. Mr. Desborougb was selected from 35 applicants. Mr. Ormond Wilson M.P, .for Rangitikei, is still in hospital in Wellington, and will not be able to attend t-o his Pariiamentary and constxtuency work for a week or two yet. The' doctors anticipate that he will be out of hospital before the end of next week when he will return to his home in Bulls. Mr. B. V. Beeby, of Christchurch, has .been appointed tas producer of radio plays for the National Broad* casting Service. Mr. Beeby is the pfoducer i'or the Oanterbury Repertory Tbeatre Society. He teaches speeclx training privately. He has had considerable experience as a producer for professional companies as well as esperience as an actor. The radio aido of bis work has iixcluded tlie production of plays for 2BL and 2FC, Sydney. He is producer for Austfal Players. 3YA, , Christchurch.
