NURSES' CHRISTIAN UNION MEETS

The monthly meeting of the Hastings branch of the Nurses' Christian TJnion was held in the G.F.S. room on Friday afternoon. The president, Mrs. Drummond, presided over a fair attendancc of members. Reference was made t( the annual conference which is to b held at Christchurch at the end of January, 1938. For the meeting each member hac been asked to bring "an item of in terest," and the result was a very en tertaining afternoon. "Items" jver* varied, and included Oriental dentistry scientific research among insects, per sonal experiences with birds, facts about the change Cliristianity hac wrought in India, and medical laws contained in the Bible. Members enjoyed a time of pleasanl social intercourse over a cup of tea and the meeting closed with a vespei hymn.
