The Empire Games trial marathon race conductetl by the Ot&gd Uentfe of the NeW Zealahd Amateur Athletio Associatlon Was held at Mosgiel ill poi'i'ect weather yesterday afternoon aild reSulted irt a hi'illiant win for G. L. Austin, who SO time of 2 hours mihutes 19 3-5 Beconds must establisli a Btroug clairn for his selection in tho New Zealand Empire Games team. There were six starters, L. 41. hlc-Mil-lan being the only otker ruunct to fiuisli the courso of 26 miles 385 yards. His timo wus 3 hours 12 minutos 51 seconds.
