The sohson i'or visitors to the gannet sanctuary at Cape Kidnappers wifi open. officially on Saturday next, when it is expected that a large number will make the trip to the Cape. Tbe gannets have practically all returned and taken up residence in readiness for nesting. During the year numerous improvements have been made at the Cape which wilf make it an even more papular resqrt than in the past. The greatest boon to visitors will be water supply which has been provided for thirsty picnickers. There are three tanks, each holding 200 gallons of rain water — and at the present timo these are all full— providing 660 gallons in all. This supply should Jast for ' the greater "part of the season, but wastefulness will have to be aVQidod, since the supply depends upon rain for replenishmefit. To eliminate as much waste as. possible a tap of the pressdovvn type has been fitted, so tbat it will be impossible for it to be left running.
