D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate 's Court, Wellington, wlien dealing with a number of cases of false statements mado for the purpose of obtaining benelit under the Employment Promotion Act, "People seem to think," he continued, "that the IJneniployment Fund is there to be robbed on every hand— robbed, I say, deliberately robbed. Why that should be so 1 cannot understand; but it is a very bad thing for our young nation and its future that such a state of mind shonld be so prevalent. I can only hope that in the future there will be a change of mind." Four offenders of this type appeared before Mr Mosley, and in each case fines wero inflieted.
