Awatea and Matua at the Spring Show Considerable interest has been taken. in past- years in Union Steam Ship Company'a travel exhibits at the Hawke's Bay Spring Show so the compa'uy fias docided on this occasion to feature in their stand, which will be located in the produce hall, models of their two lateet passenger vessels. Awatea and Matua. The Awatea, holder of the record for the Tasman crossing, is a vessel of 13,500 tona and is the fastest and most ■luxurious ship opejrating either in Australia or New Zealand. A mere glance at the model will convince that she is a ship of beauty, while some idea of her coinfortablo appointnients will also be obtained from a large illuminated colour transparency of one of tho public roonis which will ' be shoAvn together with a model of one of the cabins. This cabin is coniplete in overy detaii and even contains a miniature of the teleplione whic-li is to be found in every first class rooin. The Matua tvas specially built for the Auckland-South Sea Islands. service and, although her passenger accommodation is ..limited, it is oi the very latest design, consequently this new motor vessel is a great favourite with those who wish to visit the Pacifie isles. To complete the display, the Orient Lihe, for vkom the Union Company act as agents, have made available a spociul illuminated "diorama" of thoir new Orcades which is at present on her maiden voyage from Lonjon to Australia via Suez. The Union Steam Ship Company 'e representativo at the show will be glad to describe more fully these fine liners and also give details regarding trips to Australia, the South Sea Island's^ Canada. U.S.A., to England, the Far East, around-the-wbrld, also air travel in New Zealand.
