Operations in the store sheep section were rather restricted on account of the unseasonable weather ConditiOns. Some good saies of nice hoggets wexe made under the hammer. Dairy cattle came forward in large numbers and the business was fairly brisk. Well over 1000 head of fat sheep were yarded, the quality being well ahead of late offerings and included many pens carrying heavy fleeces. The offering of closo on 400 head of hoggets met with a steady sale at firm values, prime heavy-wooled lots selling to 38s ld. Ewe mutton, which made up the bulk of the offering, slumped badly and saies were most dilficult. Wether mutton was in short supply and prime lots showfed no variation on late rates.
