Exports of New Zealand oheese for the season ended July 31 were 85,169 tons, compared wlth 88,928 tons in 193536 and 89 812 'tons in 1934-35. The increased output for the past season was 1241 tons, or approximately 1.4 per cent. The increase is particularly en* couraging in view of the tendency in recent years for production to dedine. Based on the guaranteed price of '6.8ld per lb., the return to the industry was £5,415,334. Returns from butter on the guaranteed price of 12.56 per lb. totalled £17,470,600. For the second season in succession exports of Now Zealand butter have created a record. Shipments for the year ended July 31 totalled 149,003 tons, an increase of 5.3 per cent. over the previoua record tonnage of 141,448i shipped in the 1935-36 season.
