DOG BITES ACTOR
While visiting a frxend at Weybridge, Surray, recently, Mr Esme Percy, the 50-ycar-old Lohdon-born actor and producer, was bitten near tho left eye by a Great Dane, and it is f eared that he may lose the sight of thig eye. He entered the Eye Clinic, Maryleboxxe road, London, where he underwent an operation. His ctmdition was described as "fair only." With his mother, Mr Percy was visiting Mr Elder Wills, a film director. Describing the mishap, Mr Wxlls said that Mr Percv stroked the Great Dane and raised the dog's front legs so that its paws rested on his shoulders. "I think that probably the dog wanted to get down and that it snapped at him," added Mr WiHs. "The dog did not attack Mr Percy. It is not vicious in any way." Mr Wills. added that after the incident Mr Percy said: "Poor old dog, it was not his fault." Mr Percy is a well-known Shakespearean and Shavian actor, who made Jiis first appearance on an English staae in 1904.
