MR. GEORGE THOMAS TAYLOR
Mr George Tliomas Taylor, 6f Hastings, passed away yesterday morning at the age of 54 years after a lengthy illness extending over more than two years. Mr Taylor was born in Manchester (England) in 1883 and came out to New Zealand about 26 years ago. On coming to Hawke's Bay he took over an orchard at Frimley and he worked this uutil .his illness two years ago, sinco when it lias been carried. on by members of his family. Aithough of a retiring dispo'sition, tho late Mr Taylor took a keen interest in the alfairs of the district and was a prominent niember of the Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers' Association for many years. He was also n keen worker for St. Matthew's Church before , his illness and sang in the church choir. He Was interested in all sporting activities, and made a point of attending abnost every crlcket, football and wrestling match. Mr Taylor is survived by a widow and three sons, Messrs Alex., Herbert and Colin Taylor, all of Hastings. The funeral will leave St. Matthew's Church for the Hastings Cemetery at 3 p.m. to-day.
