Gene'rous bequests to four Aucklani] religious organisations and to several English. hospitals aro made under the tvill of the late Bonald Edwin Prodgers, of Bloekhouse Bay, who died on September 23. The net residue of the estate, of which the Public Trustee is exeeutor, is estimated at £25,000 aftei the payment of legacies and deat1 duties. ' The wiil stipulates that ono third of the residue is to be divide'J equally among the following eight in stitutions, each of which ^s to receive the inconie on its sluue of the estate. Thev will eaeh receive the equivaleut ot iinnual interest on approximately £1000 in the meantime. The beneficiaries are the Church. of England Orphan Home at Papatoetoe for general purposes; the Auckland City Mission for general purposes; the Sister Esther benevolent fund of Presbyteriaf Church, Auckland,
for work among the poor atiu »eeay; the vicar and church wardens of St. Saviour's Church, Bloekhouse Bay, for the building fund of the church; Lock Hospital, Harrow road, London, for general purposes; St. Mark;s Hospital, City road, London, for general purposes; St. Dunstan 's Home, Begent Park, London, for general purposes; Prlnce of Wales fund for London hospitals, for general purposes. On the termination of the life interest the will provides for the division of the whole of tho estate into 20 equal parts. Eight are bequeathed for the Chancellor of the Exchequer for the general purpose of the Consolidated Funds of the British Treasury and a further four parts for the Minister of Finance in Kew Zealand for the general purposes of the Consolidated Eunds of the Kew Zealand Treasury. The remainder will be clivided equally anioiig the eight organisations mentioned previously. Born at Kingston, St. Michael, Wiltshiro, in 1863, Mr. Prodgerg was able.ta trace his lineal descent from Edward Prodgers, groom of the chambers to King Charles II. The family was a noted aporting and exploring ose.
