Greendale Club's Final Run on Saturday On Saturday the Greendale Roat Cycling Club will hold the final run oi the season, which will include uot onlj the club 's 25-mile championship of tiu season, but also the special contest fo: the h. r. Grant Rose Bowl, as well a! a number of Gther trophies for vafious phases of the raee. The event will start from Taradale al 2.30 p.m. next Saturday, and will b( run under the local .system, each competitor being dispatched at one minutc iiitervals and not ailowed to accepl pace' from another c'ompetitor. • There will be a sealed handicap ir CbnjunCtion with the charopionskip, and the chief prize for this section of thc raee will be a kandsome rose bowl donated by Mrs h. r. Grant, of Taradale, to be won outright. The .winner of the championship will be presented with a sash and trophy donated by the Greendale Club, and there will he five other trophies for the minor plaoing.s, including a rose bowl donated by the chairman of the club, Mr a. e. Perkins. a number of visiting riders are expected from as far afield as Pahiatua and Fielding, so a record field is likely to face tho starter. The present holder of the titi© is m. Lee, of Hastings, and he will ba kafdpressed by a number of rider.3 who are at pfesenfc in great form. . w. Williams, holder of the 50-mile title, will not be a competitor, as he will ,be competing in the New Zealand i00-mile championship at Christchurch on the same day.
