The picture was.directed by W. 8, Van Dyke, talented director oi the first picture, who is an ardeht mystery stoiy Teader on his own aecord. Hxmt Stroinberg/ f ormer star newspapor man, was 'the producer. "After the Thin ^pan" presents a sparkling comedy-Mystery, plaeed in San Praneisco. - Powell, as the deteetive, Nick Charles, arrives home after a New York venture determined to abandon the profession of sleuthing. But he encounters immediate mystery, murder and intriguo ia an affair that extends from tne aristocratic heights of old Nob Hill to the shadowed alleys of Chinatown. The big attraction on Satufday at the Begent will be "'The Prince and the Paiiper."
