S'AETER THE THTN MAN." t I mammmmmm "After ihe Thin Man," starring Willlam Powell and Myma Loy, which \ screens at the Begent Theatra to-day / is & sensational sequel to "Tio Thia Maa," produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer id response to remarkable public demand for another myatery by Dashiell Hammett. Powell and Miss Loy excel their stellar performances in tha - original and the story is even - - more intriguing. A first-rate supporting cast includes James Stewart, Elissa Landi, Joseph Calleia, Jessie Balph and Asta, ihe smart little wire-haired terrier that played such a clever role in "The Thin Man." The picture was.directed by W. 8, Van Dyke, talented director oi the first picture, who is an ardeht mystery stoiy Teader on his own aecord. Hxmt Stroinberg/ f ormer star newspapor man, was 'the producer. "After the Thin ^pan" presents a sparkling comedy-Mystery, plaeed in San Praneisco. - Powell, as the deteetive, Nick Charles, arrives home after a New York venture determined to abandon the profession of sleuthing. But he encounters immediate mystery, murder and intriguo ia an affair that extends from tne aristocratic heights of old Nob Hill to the shadowed alleys of Chinatown. The big attraction on Satufday at the Begent will be "'The Prince and the Paiiper."
