\ Chinese Lines Pounded BOMBARDMENT OF RAILWAY (Eeeeived 13, 10.40 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Oct. 12. Tke pounding of tke Chinese lines north of tke International Settlement* continued tkrougkout the day. This is believed to bo tke prelude to a great Japanese offensive, for wkick tke weather is now favourable. ^ After artillery fire planes bombed tke Skangkai-Woosung raiiway near tke North Station to a terrific extent. Tke cltiims that artillery scored direet kits on two Japanese transports unloading troops in the Wkangpoo river. Tkrilling air battles were witnessed at Nanking wken Japanese bombers attacked tke aerodrome af Nanking. One of the raiders was skown down. Three otkers succeeded in dropping about 60 bombs.
