C'anou C. Mortimer Joues, of Hastings, is a passenger by the Rangitihi, due at Auckland from London on October 20. Canon C. Mr Justice Ostler will preside over the Napier sittings of the JSupreme Court starfcing on October 26, after which he will attend the sessions beginning at Gisborne on November 2. Mr H. Turner, London manager of the New Zea'land Fruit Board, is returning to the Dominion by the Rangitihi which is due at Auckland on October 20. The Hawke's Bay Presbytery at its meeting yesterday agreed to nominate the Rev. Thomas Ewart Riddell, one of the Presbyterian Church 's missionaries in India, as Moderator of the Generai, Assembly for the year 1938-30. Major N. W. McD. Weir. New Zeaiand Staff. Corp3, who commanded the New Zeaiand Coronation contingent and remained in England for some months on other duty, is a passenger from. London by the Eatigitiki, due at Auckland on October 20. Dr. F. J. Williains, medical officer of Papua, who has been attending the Interpational Jubilee Esperanto Congress, held at Warsaw last August, left Wellington yesterday with Mrs Williams by the Van Rees for Sydney en route to New Guinea. Mr J. Caradus, district land registrar at New Plymouth, has been appointed Registrar-General of Lands. Mr Caradus served in the Auckland office of the Lands and Deeds Department before gomg to Blenheim as district registrar. Mr Caradus was then stationed at Nelson, and haa since been at New Plymouth for a number of yeara,
