Objection to Curtailment AUCKLAND B STATION

(By Telegr»ph-

AUCKLAND, Last Night. I A letter from the Direetor of Broad-. ' jcasting was read to the' Presbytery to-. jnight, stating that stace the G.overnjment had taken, over the control oi 1 ' jstation 1ZM at Mauurewa it would not be possible to reinstate the weekly talks that the Presbyterian Church had previously been broadcasting from there. The direetor said that if they accepted- talks from the Presbyterian Church they would, have to. extend Bimilar privileges to other Churches. - Rev. J. A. All'au, convener of the i Presbytery '3 Broadcasting Committee, said they quite admitted that, but there j wa's no reason why the time the Presbyterian Church had previously should not still be devoted to religious Bubjects divided up among the Churches on the same prineiple on which their I time was now divided on the maia national statiohs. If they could agree Sbout that without' quarrelling they, could surely do so over the tinfe on the B stations. If the direetor 's letter was thc last word ifmeant that the outcome of the Government 's policy was to cut down the time available for ■ religious -purposes.- j • A resolution was adopted asking that | the- time pTeviously at the disposal of j the Presbyterian Church be put at the i diBposai of the various Churches for ! religious purposes and ' urging the j Government to see to it that its purchase of B stations did' not involve anycurtailment 'of the total time available on the air f or religicius purposes.
