A first-rate supporting cast includes James Stewart, Elissa Landi, Joseph Calleia, Jessie Ealph and Asta, the smart little wire-haired terrier that played such a clever role in ' 1 Tho Thin. Man." The picture was direeted by W. S. Van Dyke, taiented director oi the hrst picture, who is an. ardent mystery stoiy reader on his own accord. Hunt Stromberg, former etar newspaper man, was the producer. "After the Thin Man" presents a BpaTkling comedy-mystery, played in San Franeisco. Powell, as the detective, Nick Charles, arrives home after a New York .venture determined to abandon the prolession of sleuthing. But he encounters immediate mystery, murder and intriguo in an affair that extends from the aristocratic heights of old Nob Hill to the shadowed alleys of CMnatown, * 'After the Thin Man" is a picture tha$ will rnn its original a close race for popularity. It is more than a •equel, for it picks np in high gear where "The Thin Man" left off and it jiever slackens the pace.
