i ^ The Mahora Swimming Olub held its aunual meeting last night, Mr H. x'hompsoa presiding over a goo.d attendaace, Mr Thoinpgon, in moving the adoption of the report and balancesheet? stated that he considere.d the position was most satisfactory. Subseriptions are to be the same os last year, Mr Lassen suggested that Mr Bissei} be appointed to see if full use could bo made of the radio in the baths thw year, prior to the commencement of the club carnivals, for the entertainment oi' visiting patrons, and also for announcing. After the general meeting a committee meeting was held at whick Mr J. 0. Taylor was eleeted chairman for the ensuing year. It was decided that the baths be open to the public en Octobor 24. The carnivals are to start on Novomber 4, with an open carnival, the following programme to be sent to the Centre for approval: — Junior boys, 25 yards; junior girls, 25 yards; inter* mediate boys, 50 yards; ladies, 25 yards; senior men, 50 yards; open dive; junior dive; electric dash, 25 yards: novelty; teams' race, 75 yards. Mr Wise reported on the decision of the school committee in regard to the painting of the baths, and it was decided to proceed with the painting by having a working bee on Wednesday evening. , ;
