Associations Opening Matches of Season

GROUNDS ALLOTTED

A meeting of the Hastings Crickel Sub-Association was held last night, Mr. A. D. Mahoney presiding over a full attendance of delegates. Letters were received from the H.B.C.A., Havelock North Town Board and the Methodist and West End Uricket Clubs. The terms for the Havelock ground were agreed to. The H.B.C.A. intimated that the senior competition vvould start on Saturday, October 23, and that Messra. F. Cane (seaiior) and A. W. Elliott (junior) had been appointed selectors. The suggestion of the W.C.A. for a senior cricket week at Cliristmas in Wellington was referred to the senior clubs. Messrs. E. Mitchell (senior), S. Rouse {mid-week), S. K. Hingston (junior) were appointed Hastings selectors. Napier v. Hastings senior (in Napier) and junior (at Hastings) fixtures will be played on Labour Day. I Oetober 25. Grounds were allotted as lollows: Senior (1 Cornwall Park, I Nelson Park), mid-week (2 Cornwall Park), junior (3 Cornwall Park, I Havelock, J High School). The Flaxmere Cricket Club were granted a wicket for Labour Day. The hours of play in all matcbcs wiJl be 1.45 p.m. to 6.15 p.m., and all teams are requested to supply an umpire.
