WEEKLY MARKET REPORT
Harvey, Fulton and Hill Messrs. Harvey, Fulton and Hill re- ; port having held their usual weekly ; market sale in their mart, Russell j street, Hastings, on Saturday. Although ■ there was a serious counter-attraction, i there was a large attendance of the public. The yarding of poultry was a large one, considerably larger than t'or some time past, but the demand wns again exceptionally keen, and the ! liighest prices of the season ruled. The ' .>ntry of pigs met with strong corapetition, the whole of the yarding changing hand's at firm rates. A number of inotor cars and a quantity of sundries, fruit and vegetables were also disposed of. Prices may be quoted:— Poultry: B.O. cockerels 4/3 to- 5/6, W.L. cockerels 2/8 to 3/6, B.O. hens
4/3 to 5/4, W.L. hens 3/5 to 4/2, ducks 8/- to 9/- pair bantame 1/7 to 2/1, pigs £1 10/-, £1 15/- and others up to £1 17/6. Other saies were; Potato plough £2 10/-, garden hose 15/-, Buick tourer £6 15/-, motor cycle £1 , Dodge roadstor £3, Ford model T £6 10/-, six chairs 5/6, push chair 7/-, eating potatoos 13/6 sack, 4/6 sugar bag, barrel 6/6, maize -10/- sack. pig potatoes 1/9 sack. mirror £1 10/-, keg 2/6, carpet £9, bed ends £1 2/6, table £1, settee £1 2/6, tallboy £1 17/6, S. bed £1 17/6, horee collar £1 5/-, bedstead £1 17/6, six chairs 10/-, bicycle £1 15/-, vat £1 10/-. wringer £1 9/-. A large yarding of vegetables, lemons and sundries were all sold at firm rates
