DUNEDIN, Last Night. In view of the Government's intention to introduce a Shops and OfBces Act revision, tearoom, tCstaurant aiid milk-bar propfietofs resolved this morning to seek an extension to 11 p.m. of the hour till which females may be employed. A memorandum for the Minister states that the Act fixing the hour at 10.30 was passed as a war measure during abnormal conditions and was now proving a tremendous handicap to the i'dstaurafit industry in these times of quick transportation and the craze for evening entertainmeut, speeially iii Dunedin, whei*e the public floCk to tearooms after the pictUres instead of go4 ing, as in other centres, to cabardts and road houses. If the hours are ndt extended, lnrge restaurants will have to cloSe, fbr this supper trade is an indispensable source of revenue.
