LOW-LEVEL BRIDGE WANTED

Access to Mangatutu Station Some months ago the Hawke's Bay County Council received a request for the erection of a low-level bridge across the Mangatutu river, giying access ta Mangatutu Station from Waihau. At to-day's -meeting .of the council it was decided that tho chairman, Mr. F. B. Logan, Mr. W. Turner, member fer the Puketapu riding, and the cngiueer, Mr R. Puflett, should meet Mr. W. P. BeJl on the site some day this week. - It is hoped that the work will be proceeded with" at an carly date so as to overcome the difficulty of i'ording the river, which at present is the only means of access. A bridge similar /to that over the Arapawanui river is proposed, and access to the Waihau road would be gained tlirough Waldon's road.
