BRITISH FASCIST LEADER KNOCKED OUT BY STONE AT OPEN-AIR MEETING
(Received 11, 9.40 a.m.> LONDON, Oct. 10. The British Pascist leader, Sir Oswald Mosley, was knocked out at a Fascist open-air meeting at Liverpool. Hundrods of missiles were flung immediately he stood up to give an address through a ioudspeaker on a van. A large stone hit him on the temple. He fell semi-conscious. Mounted police charged the crowd. Several arrests were made. Sir Oswald was sent to hospital suffering from concussion and a punctured wound in the skull. An operation wa? successful, and there is no anxiety at present. Over 20 were injured by stones when the crowd tried* to rush the van. Mr G. C. Balfour. Director of Fascists at Uverpool, was'admitted , to hospital with a head wound and an injury to a shoulder. He was stoned when speaking from the van before Sif Oswald Mosley 's arrival.
