ST. ANDREW'S MEN'S CLUB

Informative Addresses At the regular meeting of St. Andrew 's Men 's Club there was an attendance of 63. Community singing, under the baton of Mr H. J. Grieve, jwith Mr W. Lord at the piano, opened the evening's programme. Items were given as follows: — Songs. Mr T. C. Jackson; violin solos, Mr G. Anderson;' lightning sketches, Mr H. Harden. The president welcomed ,a number of visitors to the club, including members of the Baptist meu's fellowship. Alr Boggis, on the visitors' behalf, thanked the club for the opportunity to bo present. A short bufc interesting and informative addrcss on "Asparagus" was given by Mr G. D. Wilson, who deseribed the method of planting, cultivation - and cutting, together with information concerning its popularity as an edible plant in America, and Europe. ^The main address of the evening wa« given by Mr M, R. G. Matheson. ' his subject being "Thought," which he dealt with in a very able manner, and at the conclusion an interesting diseussion took plaee. The thanks of the club were extended to all those who helped to make tho evening such an enjoyable one. During supper the president announced that the club's activities for 1937 would be brought to a elose next Fhursday. when members would hold a "ladies' uight."
