60,000 Women at Italian Display on Child Welfare
ROME— Some 60,000 women of every class of society and from every part of Italy.came to Rome for the opening of the Child Welfare exhibition, in the extensive area of the -Circus . Maximum under the Palatino Hill. Peasant women were attired in their local costumes. The Child Welfare exhibition was organized by the Fascist Party to show the work accomplished by tbe Fascist regime in .fostering education of the youth of the nation. There "are 11 pavilions at the exhibition. . One shows numerous paintinga and sculptural works taken from the chief picture galleries ' and muse'ums of Italy to illustrate the inspiration of children - to ; artists- in ; another are illustrated various activities for the assistance of children. One special section shows the measures taken by the Fascist Government to" conbat ' alcoholism. . .. . • . ' • : ' .• :• . « Another pavilion illustrates the work done'for the training of minors and another relates to schools, while special sections are set apart .for the §ummer colonies organized by the local anthorities. " The" Balilla pavilion "shows "the .various . activities . for ■ the^asqistance of youth in-hygienic cultural and physical education and in military training. Adjoining the exhibition is a large amusemeht park,'. which - appears to attract the children 's attehtion • more than' the exhibitioh itself . -
