PLAYERS' CONDUCT IN QUESTION Rugby is npt the only football code in which rough play is causing public comment. The English Soccer authorities have taken' measures to combat undesirable factors. The Daily Mail of September 3 commented as follows: — Strong, and it is hoped - effective,. j action has been taken by the Fpotball Association to. prevent.eny sjpread of foul play in professional football. The association kave n?w decided, that in all cases where three cautions are recqrded against a player " the matter will be referred to the disciplinary committee, who will inquire irito the offences, and,' if necessary, suspend the play§r without further investigation. . Conduct during the previous twp seasons will be taken into account. Every League club has been told of the decision. Certain clubs have received notice from the association that the records revpal an undue number of reports against certain of their players. In these sponfic cases the directors have been aslicd to give the matter special attention. ■ ' The assodation's report shQwed that the game was generally played in a good sporting spirit and that complaints were 'made against comparatively few- plubs. More than 2.5,00' professional players are affected by the decision.
