Duke of Windsor'^ Autograph WELLINGTONIAN'S SUCCESS
(By Telegriiph-
i WELLINGTON, Last Night. Once again New Zealand 's champion autograph hunter, Miss J. M. Colley, of Wellington, has achieved a "scoop". She haB added - to her. collcction the signature of the Duke of Windsor. Early this ycar Miss Colley secured the autograph of the Duchess of Windsor, then Mrs Simpson, by wxiting to a close friend of Mrs Simpson. The portrait she forwarded, together with her request, was return from Cannes Bigned "Wallis Simpson." There was also a covering letter which placed beyond doubt the genuineness of the signature. Miss Colley prefers not to reveal the method by which she obtained the duke's autograph. It was a simple, straightforward ru30, but she may wish to repeat it in the case of other notable people and she does not intend to give it away to rivals. As in the case of other campaigns, Miss Colley was at some pains to find a suitable photograph of the Duke of Windsor. From a photograph she prepared a pencil portrait with neat artistry and this she dispatched to a likely intermediary, together with a carefully worded appeal. The result was displayed by Miss Colley to-day, the returned drawing being signed "Edward, 1937". Miss Colley is now planning a campaign to include Hitler in her bag.
