REAL DANGERS TO PEACE.

" The real dangers to the peace of the world are the pacifists. There is no great danger of war if we are strong enough policemen, with a truncheon to keep order, but the policeman must have his truncheon, or he is no good. If we had taken the view of the pacifists in 1914, either the German Emperor or Hitler would now be in Whitehall. Coming to later times, I should have thought that Abyssinia would have cured every paeifist in the .world. I would rathei die than see bombs dropping on the children while we stand by doing nothing. I always think myself of what wonld have happenefi if the Good Samaritan had turned np two hours earlier and had laid about him. He would have stopped the ill-treatment. There is nobody in this world more keen on peace than the present Government . Does Sir Thomas Inskip look like a fire-eater? He is one of onr leading Christians. I am all for watching the Government, and I do not wish to give a blank eheque to any Government) but as our Government is intent on peace, let us, fpr God's sake, stand behind it." — The Bishop of London.
