MISHAP AT OVERBRIDGE

Our Own Correspondent.)

Wedding Guests Held Up for Threequarters of an Hour

(From

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Another minor mishap at the new overbridge which is being constructed between Waipukurau and Waipawa was responsible for the holding-up of traffic for nearly three-quarters of an hour on Monday evening. Three cars bringing people from Waipawa for a wedding, including the bridegroom's mother, were delayed when they encountered a lorry, heavily loaded with steel for the job, which had struck the bank and blocked the way. The truck could not be moved until it was unloaded, and by this time it wa/s too late for some of the passengers in tho waiting cars to arrive iit the wedding on time. The bridegroom's mother, however. waa brought on to Waipukurau by taxi.
