SUBMARINE ATTACKS BRITISH DESTROYERS IN MEDITERRANEAN
(Keceived 5, 3 p.m.) LONDON, October 4. An ofitclal communique at Valencla announces that two British destroyers were attacked "By a submarine in the Mediterranean off Uape Antonio. The coastguard heard three explosions and saw the destroyers turn about and drop depth charges. Soon five mere destroyers and two flying-boats appeared and Joined in the search. Watchers on the shore saw a columir of smoke near one group of destroyers.
