HASTINGS HARRIERS HOLD WIND-UP DANCE

A partioularly jolly and suecessful wind-up dance ior tlie Hastings Harrier Club's 1937 season was held in the Barrie Studio, Hastings, last evening, when the gnxests of honour wero the club officers and the ladies' committee. Music for the dancing was excellently played by Lew Munro's orchestra, and during the evening the trophies and badges won during the year were presented by the club president, Mr A. M. Robertson. Before the presentations were niade Mr A. Robertson, the club captain, extended thanks to the ladies' cominittee for the help wliich they had givon during the year and also to tho executive who had worked so well togetlier. Mr A. M. Robertson congratulated those who received the trophies. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw. the club patron, also spoke briefly and congratulated the club on its successful season. The guests of honour wero tho club officers, Messrs A. Robertson (captain), Ian Snaddon (honorary socretary), E. Heaton (treasurer) and M. Richards, S. Coles, L. Webb, N. Cohen and B. Anderson (committee). The ladies' committee were the Misses .Lyndal Patterson, Bctty Underwood, Aliee Gillman and Margaret Millson. Two other presentations were made during the evening by Mr A. Robertson. One to a club member Mr W. Apperley and his fiancoe, Miss E. Holmes, who are to be married sliortly, and the second one to Miss Margaret Millson, a member of the ladies' committee, who is also to be married. During the evening supper was enjoyed by/all. Among those prosent were: — The president, Mr A. M. Robertson, and Mrs Robertson, who wore a black georgette frock and coateo with red corsage flower. The vice-president, Mr Anderson, and Mrs Anderson, who wore a gown of brown floral marocain. Mies Lyndal Patterson. sea-green taffeta with gold roses at the neck. Miss Betty Underwood, gold satin sheen with brilliant clasps at the neck. Miss Margaret Millson, coral pink georgette, the corsage shirred on tho shoulders. Miss A. Gillman, white chiffon gown and an evening cloak of spring green velvot. Mrs Duckmanton, black flowered chilfon gown and a black velvct coatee. Mrs Oushing, pink georgette with ruched corsage. Mrs Giles, green velvet with gathered neckline. Mrs Billiard, pink floral georgette trimmed with- shirring. / Miss B. Dobson, magenta sheer crepe with silver corsage ilowers. ,Miss J. Symonde, blue velvet with elbow length shirred sleeves, Miss P. Boshier, black velvet with long full sleeves of gold satin. Miss T. Coles, white flowered chiffon with a cherry sask. Miss V. Duff, petal pink souple satin having a flared basque. Miss E. yteere, white matelasso with blue corsage flowers. Miss U. Loaeh, grey chiflon flowered in shades of lilac. Miss N. Coles, daffodil velvet with a silvcr lame belt. Miss N. Rogers, palest pink flowered organdie having flared epaulettes. Miss V. Dew, gold satin with quiltlng at the hem. Miss N. Hatch, copper satin witli blue and pink chiffon eash. Miss J. Loach. blue flowered chiffon trimmed with tiny frills. Miss Z. Ashcroft, decpest red needlerun lace. Miss L. Curry, deep wine velvet trimmed with gold. Miss N. Carroll, black taffeta having puffed sleeves. Miss J. Thompson, blue flowered georgette trimmed with shirring. Miss N. Chambers, deepest green velvet with brilliant shoulder clasps. Miss M. Gunn, green flowered chiffon having flared epaulettes. Miss N. Rogers, palest pink flowered silk with a pink sash. Miss E. Holmes, white flowered georgette having a pleated frill at the neck. Miss J. Harris, blue taffeta with silver trimmings. Miss I. Long, green flowered silk with a green belt. Miss E. Thow. black floral taffeta frock and coatee. Miss J. McKay, turquoise taffeta with puffed sleeves. Miss J. Warren, white stiffened net with rosebud trimming. Miss B. Norman, pale green brodorie anglaise gown. Miss J. Smitli, oporlo red lace with flowers at the back. Miss R. Tocker, gown of floral chiffon in pale mauve.
