REGENT THEATRE

"MOONLIGHT SONATA." Charm is the keynote of "Moonlight Sonata, " with Paderewskd as the chief charmer, which screens at the Regent Theatre to-night. There have been more exciting films, but nono more beautiful or so completely satisfying. The film has been skilfully built around Paderewski and his music. It. opens with the pianist giving a recital in a crowded concert hall. Attention is drawn to a happy young couple and their baby daughter. Later in his club Paderewski tells the story of their romance, how it was nearly broken and how his musid brought them together again. Eric is steward on the remote, pxcturesque Swedish estate of the Baroness Linden borg, who encourages his affections for her beautifui granddaughter, lngrid. A plane makes a forced landing on the estate, bringing with it Paderewski, his secretary, and an elegant young man, Mario. Mtirio completely fascinates lngrid, and persuades her to elope with him. Bnt at the eleventh hour Marjo * is unmasked and lngrid bitterly realises what a fooi sh© has been. She is too ashamed to c'onfront Eric, but the magie of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata," as played by Padereswki shows the way to iove. Charles Farrell and Mario Tempest have important roies in the pie-' ture. Also on the programme is tlie March of Time (No. 7) and a Walt Disney all-colour classie.
