FURTHER COUPS THWARTED
All Quiet in Jerusalem (Eeceived 4, 8.45 a.m.) JERUSALEM, Oct. 3. All is now quiet. Only Jamal Husseini, president of the ' Arab Party, has evaded arrest. The others are aboard the Sussex destined for the Seychelles. Police leave has been cancelled, and armourcd cars are patrolling tlie liighways. All officors and troops have been iastructed to carry revolvers aud sidcarms respectively. The Government's eoup Is believed to have nullified concerted action by the Arabs who are aboard the 'Sussex and others to carry on the campaign. Under resentment plus intimidation, bands of youths are celebrating the birtli of the prophet. Arabs are extensively closing their shops as a protest against the arrests. The movement is expected to extend to other towns. The emergeney regulations permit the autliorities 10 ordtw their reopening.
