■ 11 mm That wonderful veteran bowler, Sydncy Barnes, is now with St. Annes, a Ribblesdale League Club, and despite his 64 years he has lost little of his old skill and retains his graceful action and beautiful length. He has already taken 46 wickets, this season. Up to July 31 when St. Annes played Blackpool, the spectators enjoyed the privilege of seeing. two of the finest bowiers cricket has produced, Barnes and the late E. A. McDonald, the former Lancashire an'd Australian fast bowler, in opposition. McDonald (who was kilied in a motor accident on July 22), was in splendid form and took six wickets- for 45 runs. Assisting St. Annes incidentally, was S. Puddefoot, the old Esscx cricketer and yVcst Hani fuotbalJer.-
